About The Service You will earn £21,029 per annum working full time (37hrs), or £10.90 per hour pro rata, as we are Voluntary Living Wage Employer. The supplement will be reviewed every April. Our Education's Information Systems Team is looking to employ a
Corporate Apprentice (Level 2) based at County Hall, Atlantic Wharf, Cardiff, CF10 4UW to contribute to our Service helping us to deliver a service of managing data in relation to all pupils in Cardiff Schools, ensuring the maintenance of a central pupil database, reporting and analysis of pupil performance in Cardiff, data services to all Education teams and the provision of Statutory Data Returns to Welsh Government.

In this
Corporate Apprentice(Level 2) role you will learn to:
Develop skills which will enable you to understand how databases work, how data is collected, stored, and managed securely.
You will also learn to analyse large volumes of data using reporting tools that will enable the production of tables, graphs and dashboards for internal staff and management.
Additionally, you will develop general office administration skills, including the use of Microsoft Office tools such as Word and Excel along with other software, and helping customers with their enquiries.
Full training will be provided, and our Team will help and encourage you to develop in the role and you will be encouraged to take on a variety of duties.
You will receive supervision and on the job training and will have a named mentor to support you to deliver an efficient and effective service in a positive, customer-focused manner.
The Corporate Apprentice & Trainee Scheme also provides opportunities to enhance your transferrable skills to help support your career progression.
Many of our teams have moved to online and homeworking working, and you will be encouraged to develop the skills to support this.
Where homeworking is required, you will be given the necessary equipment however, you will need to arrange your own internet connectivity (some support may be available to help with this).
The role is 37 hours per week but operates the Council's Flexi policy to allow a work-life balance, with expectation to support the Information systems Team during peak periods of work.

15 months if worked full time, or longer if worked part time.
Most roles are based on a 37-hour week although many roles can be worked on a part time basis and at least 16 hours per week for apprentice roles.
