Your New Role:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent, site-based Traffic Safety & Coordination Officer to join our Area 12 team in Doncaster.
The salary is £ £40000 per annum.
Our Area 12 account is to support Highways England Area 12.
This account provides Maintenance and Response for the network covering Yorkshire and Humberside, providing all routine and cyclic maintenance on the trunk roads and motorways.
Our teams are responsible for incident management, defect rectification and responding to severe weather. They also oversee traffic management during incidents and the operation of the ten maintenance depots in the region.
Traffic Safety & Coordination Officer plays an important part in ensuring compliance with best practice and optimisation of planned and installed traffic management.
The standard hours of work are 37.5h. Shift pattern to be discussed at interview.

You will be responsible for:
- Planning and coordination of traffic management layouts to allow efficient and effective delivery of Cyclical and Reactive Maintenance across the Area 12 network.
- To comply with the Network Operations Management System processes for booking of road space to include engagement with our National Highways colleagues for effective clash management
- Collaborative working with Planning and Operations team to ensure optimisation of closures
- Capture lessons learnt from previous works and adapt traffic management requirements for future interventions
- Ensure compliance with current standards
- Assist with the management of costs and resources
- Attend meetings to provide traffic and traffic management expertise into scheme development
- Ensure teams are appropriately trained and qualified

- Full driving licence
- Traffic management foreman qualification
- Chapter 8 Awareness
- IT Skills Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Awareness and/or capabilities working with CAD
- Demonstrate proactive behaviours and good working within a team
- Personal Highways Safety
- Environmental Awareness
