If you are successful within this role, you will be part of the Analysis profession, in which you will be supported throughout your career with all aspects of professional and personal development such as training courses, upskilling and mentoring opportunities to help with your career progression throughout your tenure.

Leadership

  • Effectively manage team's resources through prioritisation, allocation of tasks and identification of skill gaps in relation with workload.
  • Ensure colleagues and stakeholders have a clear understanding of the team objectives, activities and time frames.

Analytical

  • Oversee the implementation of processes needed to regularly monitor and analyse market evidence, including handling large data sets, running existing activities and issuing new information requests to third parties.
  • Oversee the external publication of retail market competition indicators.
  • Oversee the internal dissemination of retail market intelligence updates and insights for the benefit of senior managers and other colleagues across Ofgem.
  • Direct highquality research and proactively identify applicable evidence to assess the impacts of retail policies and regulation on the market and consumers.
  • Identify opportunities to use analysis, including developing new frameworks or using established ones, to progress decisions.
  • Oversee written deliverables (internal and external) such as analytical reports, briefings to senior managers and regulatory decisions.
  • Oversee the delivery of specific unplanned requests concerning the teams' data sets.
