Our Role
The role is within the Finance team of the Shared Services Centre and reports into the Financial Controller.

The role holder will be responsible for the general accounting on a day to day basis e.g., UK GAAP, IFRS, US GAAP reporting for certain legal entities.

The role holder will be responsible for updating, reviewing and reconciling the general ledger and review and analysis of the results of those entities.

The role holder will insure that intercompany and third party invoicing is completed in a timely mannerand monitor the collection of receipts.

The role holder is also responsible for the preparation of the annual statutory accounts and participates in the annual audit process and internal audit requirements for those entities as needed.

The role holder willassist with the timely preparation of board reporting, ensuring that the data is complete, accurate and clear for the readers of the reports.

The role holder will assist with the development of accounting policy, procedures and guidance and ensure the controlframework is maintained.

The role holder will hold a professional accounting qualification or will be part-qualified.


Your Impact and Responsibilities:


  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting, liaising with the business and shared services centre to ensure robust and timely reporting.
  • Participation in annual audit process, including preparation of financial statements under UK GAAP, IFRS or simplified IFRS norms.
  • Preparation of intercompany and third party invoicing and monitoring of receipts.
  • Preparation of quarterly Board reports and other financial reporting as required.
  • Maintenance of control framework, including documentation of processes and controls.
  • Participation in projects to improve processes, reporting and control framework.

Experience Required:


  • UK GAAP & IFRS Reporting
  • Experience of reporting under UK GAAP, IFRS, including knowledge of IFRS16, IFRS 15 and IFRS 9 and simplified IFRS.


  • US GAAP Reporting

  • Experience of reporting under US GAAP and knowledge of the differences between US and IFRS GAAP
  • Preparation of Financial Statements under FRS102, FRS101 and IFRS
  • Experience of preparing Financial Statements under IFRS, FRS101 & FRS 102, including interpretation and implementation of new standards and consolidation of accounts.
  • Experience of implementing and maintaining a control framework
  • Experience of implementing and maintaining a control framework, including documentation of controls.


  • Audit

  • Experience of external and internal audits, including interim and final audit participation and liaising with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure the timely and successful completion of the audits

Education Required:


  • Degree or maths or accounting A-Levels or equivalent.
  • Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA), partqualified or qualified by experience

Skills Required:


  • Technical Accounting
  • Good knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS required, and understanding of US GAAP desirable.


  • Analytical skills

  • Ability to analyse data and challenge inconsistencies to ensure data is robust and variances are understood and explained.


  • Communication skills

  • Good communicator, able to explain technical accounting issues clearly both verbally and in writing. Experience of drafting financial statements and comfortable writing technical memos.


  • Task orientated

  • A task orientated individual who is able to organise and prioritise in order to complete tasks in a timely manner.


  • Office technology

  • Skilled in office technology
  • Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc. Excellent Excel skills, good PowerPoint and Word experience.
