Business Development Director - Requirements

  • MUST HAVE PROVEN SALES EXPERIENCE WITHIN FOOD SERVICES/CONTRACT CATERING
  • Excellent ability to maintain and build strong relationships
  • Experience of retaining contracts
  • Demonstrable experience in working through the tendering process to win new business
  • You must have strong commercial acumen and sales skills
  • You must have ambition, determination and a real passion for your work

Business Development Director - Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for proactively building client relationships
  • You will be responsible for retaining strong, positive client relationships
  • Liaising with operational and support colleagues to ensure their positive input to proposals, presentations, and site visits.
  • Building a strong pipeline and ensuring consistently strong conversion rates
  • Ensuring financial elements of tenders and proposals are up to date and correct
  • You will have a team of BDM's reporting into you
  • You will be responsible for anticipating client's needs and you must be excellent in selling the capabilities and strengths of the client in the most positive way
  • Networking and researching all invites to tender working closely with different areas of the business
  • Responsible for managing the sales process from creating first appointments to closing the sale
  • Responsible for delivering effective mobilisation of contracts and coordinating with relevant support functions
  • Dealing with the retention of key contracts, dealing with the process of bid tendering, bid submission and presentations
  • You will have experience in managing multiple tenders at any one time to ensure each stays within the timeframes
  • Have strong commercial acumen and understanding of financial models used to cost out submissions
  • Be confident in presenting to multiple stake holders and in articulating our key USPs in order to maximise our chances of winning with prospective clients
