Description

WHO WE ARE
Everything we do is rooted in the energy of the club culture and its ability to bring people together. Open dance floors; where music, ideas and people meet.

Boiler Room started with a webcam taped to a wall, broadcasting from a warehouse in London, opening a keyhole to the city's underground.

DIY at it's finest; raw uncut and homemade.

As an independent music platform and cultural curator, we remain true to that history. Connecting club culture to the wider world, on screen and irl through parties, film and video.

Since 2010 we have built a unique archive featuring over 4,000 performances by more than 5,000 artists spanning 150 cities, enabling everyone regardless of where they live to enjoy the freedom it stands for.

Our remit is to platform music in new ways - sound on for the voices and stories of the fringes of the mainstream.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

MAIN DUTIES

  • Receiving footage from all live broadcast events, including camera ISOs, PGM linecut recordings and multitrack audio recordings. Events are usually 5 hours +, so experience dealing with large file sizes and suitable codecs is necessary.
  • Watching back assigned shows in their entirety looking out for and correcting any technical errors that may arise. This mostly involves using the line cut recordings made on site as a reference and inserting camera ISOs (one long recording per camera shot) to cover visual or audio errors.
  • Occasionally, shows will need to be edited from the ISO recordings alone, so experience synchronising large files and editing with a multicam workflow in Premiere is required.
  • Exporting and archiving all assigned prerecorded shows that the Broadcast Department receives.
  • Notifying all relevant wider team members when a show has been successfully archived.
  • Engaging in department weekly preproduction meetings, establishing due dates for submission and as well as reviewing shows.
  • Engaging in biweekly debrief meetings to help evolve technical image quality and aesthetic of show output, along with the wider broadcast team.
  • Working with the Broadcast Content Editor to ensure that the library of hard drives is well managed and all live recorded content has been backed up.
  • Be responsible for clearing and organising available external drives once they have been put into clearly labelled folders and backed up onto NAS accordingly.

EXPECTATIONS (specific to your role)

  • Proficient in using Adobe Creative Suite, more specifically Premiere, Audition, Media Encoder, Photoshop and After Effects. Have a responsible attitude towards backingup footage to the company repository, using the inhouse methods and structure with strict adherence.
