Etex are seeking a Process Operator to join the Building Performance Team, based in Ferrybridge

2 Year Fixed Term Contract

Competitive Salary Depending on Experience

Please note:

From time to time the process Operator may be required to work flexibly and attend work outside of rostered shifts for genuine business needs.


What you'll do


The role holder will need to be able to work 12 hour shifts across a continuous process manufacturing environment that involves working day and night shifts.

This is a largely manual role that will require some technical competence to operate machinery and perform some basic maintenance as well as computer skills to update production figures and follow processes.


Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • To work in accordance with Etex Building Performance's Environment, Health and Safety policy, Waste management policy and Quality management policy
  • To be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the plant through routine duties.
  • Operating equipment to minimise reject and maximise plant performance
  • Carry out tasks requested by the Shift Manager, Assistant Shift Team Manager (ASTM) and or, any member of the Etex BP Management Team
  • Demonstrating commitment to our values and business goals as well as being flexible, innovative and team focused
  • To actively get involved with investigations for root cause analysis of manufacturing issues using the tools provided e.g., EWO's (emergency, work order), HERCA (Human error, root cause analysis), QPEWO (Quality, process emergency, work orders).
  • Continuous Improvement responsible for daytoday analysis and consequent actions aiming to improve process stability. To use operator journals to capture achievements and challenges as part of a continuous feedback and onetoone sessions.
  • To support the Company's AM (autonomous Maintenance) vision through CILT (Clean, inspect, lubricate and tighten) through daytoday activities and supporting in planned and unplanned shutdowns with engineers.
  • Working with the team (Quality Control, Continuous Improvement, Engineering) to ensure all products are produced to the defined specifications
  • To ensure pallets are put into the warehouse and stacked safely in accordance with correct spacing requirements
  • To ensure the longevity and smooth running of the equipment, the role holder will perform regular housekeeping activities, including listening and performing visual checks so that any abnormal issues are detected and addressed
  • Identifying irregularities in machine operation and using the appropriate tools to highlight them to the maintenance team for resolution and support as required e.g. carrying out basic maintenance task including cleaning, as required.
  • Responsible for conducting forklift checks and ensuring that water, oil and gas levels are maintained.
  • Minimizing sources of waste during routine tasks
  • Recycle waste appropriately reducing costs.
  • Focus on right first time.
  • To work towards the plant achieving the plant KPI's

What you'll bring:


  • Maths and English, GCSE or equivalent
  • Good understanding of computer systems such as SAP, Workbench, Learning Hub
  • Experience of shift work including working nights and 12hour shifts
  • Have a positive outlook, with cando attitude
  • Be approachable and be able to work both comfortably in a team or selfmotivated to work alone
  • Safety awareness and mindset/champion
  • Experience of shift work including working nights and 12hour shifts
- demonstrable relevant manufacturing experience

  • It would be an advantage, but is not essential, if you also have:_
  • FLT Counterbalance license
  • NVQ level 2 Manufacturing Operations
