th June 2023 (or before if available)**The Governing Body and Head at The Willows are looking to appoint a full time Caretaker. This is a permanent post working 37 hours per week on a daily split shift. The Caretaker is generally responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the school site ensuring the buildings and grounds are clean and safe, ready for the children, young adults and staff to work, learn and play. Your role will include opening up and closing of the school. You will have your own cleaning duties as well as managing a small team of cleaning staff. This role is for an individual that has good multi-trade repair skills, a positive can-do attitude and is willing to undertake a variety of tasks and be able to work alone, as well as part of a team. You will be required to carry out regular health & safety checks and minor building repairs and maintenance.

  • Ability to carry out routine repair work to buildings
  • Ability to carry out cleaning tasks in line with cleaning specifications
  • Experience of working in building and site maintenance
  • An understanding of Health & Safety requirements
  • Knowledge and experience of building security
  • Experience of working with trades people and contractors
Main duties would include (but not limited to);

  • Ensuring the site is well maintained
  • General security of the premises
  • General caretaking duties
  • Liaising with and checking the work of outside contractors
  • Assisting staff with the moving of heaving equipment
  • Emptying and collecting litter containers
  • Setting up the hall for assemblies, events etc
  • Meter readings
  • Emergency repairs to windows and doors
  • Intruder and emergency call outs
