An outstanding opportunity has arisen in the School of Health and Related Research (ScHARR) for a highly motivated Senior Research Fellow to develop and lead an innovative new research programme for the promotion and integration of EDI in cross-disciplinary research.

This includes research across the University and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS FT newly commissioned NIHR Sheffield Biomedical Research Centre (BRC).

The post is based in the Public Health Section within ScHARR, working closely with cross faculty EDI team, BRC research teams, healthcare team and patient and community groups to identify research priorities and develop proposals for new projects.

The section is focused on improving the health of the public at local, regional, national and international levels, and we undertake research in seven major research themes of Food and Nutrition, Alcohol Policy, Health and Place, Health Equity and Inclusion, Knowledge into Action, Pedagogical Research and Global Health Research.

You will have a strong dedication to developing approaches to research that are more inclusive and ensure that research is relevant to the communities and population groups that are currently underserved


You will ideally have:

  • Experience of collaboration with multidisciplinary research teams, clinicians and community organisations
  • A track record of research and/or knowledge mobilisation, which has had an impact on reducing inequalities and promoting EDI in research, health and/or care provision.
