We have an excellent opportunity as Head of Corporate Identity & Communications here at City & Guilds This is a critical role in the business in which you will be required to lead and drive the implementation of the internal communications strategy, providing high-level strategic support to the Director of Corporate Affairs & Foundation and other ELT members.


You will manage a small team with multi-functional skills, working as part of a wider directorate that brings together social impact, public affairs, and corporate identity, you will play a pivotal part in how we position City & Guilds both internally and externally.

You will be working on a hybrid basis with a mix of home and office. We offer flexible working but request presence in City & Guilds offices as required for this role.

This appointment will be made on merit.


About the role:


In this key engagement role; you will be measured for your success by engaging a wide range of staff in our work to deliver impactful communications that are clear and gain buy in.

You will focus on embedding our strategy and creating a one City & Guilds brand culture.


You will drive high internal engagement, developing highly performing content that can be used by the wider organisation and regularly look to improve performance as part of the wider team.


As Head of Corporate Identity & Communications, you will support the marketing and sales functions by developing insight drawn both internally and from external partners that can enhance our brand and corporate identity propositions.


You will be required to support high level senior groups enabling a cohesive understanding of our organisational strategy and support a team to execute this in their work with internal stakeholders.


About you:


We are looking for a dynamic individual with excellent stakeholder management skills along with an eye for innovation that can steer excellent internal communications and support strong corporate identity.

You will have a natural flair for engaging communications and a commitment to develop a strong business partnering function that can support excellent communications and standards across the organisation.


You should be an impact driven individual that regularly reviews success and builds improvement understanding the benefits of cross team collaboration.

You will have extensive experience in communications, branding and internal culture building with demonstrable success.

You will have a strong project management approach whilst being an analytical thinker with a proactive attitude.


As Head of Corporate Identity & Communications, you will bring experience in brand custodian roles, understanding how to embed corporate identity in the work of multi-functional teams.


Whilst not mandatory, it would be beneficial if you understand the UK Skills sector and the possible opportunities in markets experiencing skills gaps.
