About the team

FIS' Merchant Solutions segment 'Worldpay from FIS', is the fastest growing segment within FIS and serves large and fast-growing companies targeting internet-led multinationals with complex payment needs supported by vertical expertise in their eCommerce business.

Their solutions also provide local in-store, online and mobile payment acceptance solutions for merchants, from large corporates to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs/SMBs) and micro merchants with a focus on integrated payments for SMEs/SMBs.

The Merchant Solutions Settlement Financial Operations team, are a client centric division focused on meeting the payment processing and financial control requirements for a highly diverse range of clients, both in the U.K and internationally, encompassingestablished payments products, and new payments initiatives as we continue to expand the footprint of the business across the globe.


What you will be doing

As the Senior Director, leading the international settlement financial operations function, you will be responsible for managing the development, implementation and maintenance of a variety of settlement control functions and processes including, reconciliations,data compilation, analytics and preparation, completion of balancing schedules, general ledger journal entries and other analyses of settlement data, reports and activities.

You will provides operational support to internal and external clients, facilitatingoperational excellence, continued process improvement and effective communication to your team, as well as internal and external business partners and customers.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing, motivating and empowering staff, including planning, coaching, recruiting, performance development and mentoring
  • Managing the teams performance, implementing goals and documenting progress
  • You will design operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency
  • Ensuring timely and accurate compilation, analysis, and reporting of settlement data
  • Manage and control the settlement financial operations processes, researching problems and working with staff to resolve and identify preventative controls and measures
  • You will develop and/or maintain service level agreements (SLAs) with internal/external customers
  • Participation in annual audits, including but not limited to, oversight and coordination of audit requests. This may include working directly with external auditors or other parties to provide the required information and ensure proper recordkeeping
  • Actively participating in business/product changes and other special projects
  • Management of risk and controls
  • Involvement in transformational change projects within the function

What you bring:


  • An experienced settlement financial operations leader, with people management, internal stakeholder, and client relationship management skills
  • Enjoys a fast paced, international role, with experience working in a large global corporate
  • Strong business, financial management and planning skills, and the ability to share vision and strategic direction in a meaningful way to all levels of employees
  • Excellent analytical, statistical and problemsolving skills to support and enable employees to find solutions to problems, make the right decisions and act on great ideas
  • The ability to design, document, and implement process improvements by challenging the status quo with ideas and solutions

Added bonus if you have:


  • Experience within ideally Merchant Payments, or adjacent areas of payments (Banking, Audit, Corporate, Financial Services)
  • Professional qualifications in Accounting, Risk, Treasury, or substantial equivalent professional experience
