Description

As an Education and Training Lead Biomedical Scientist, the post holder will be required to work within the professional standards expected as a registrant of the Health Professions Council (HCPC) and maintain a portfolio of evidence supporting Continuing Professional development (CPD).

The post holder will be required to conform to agreed standard operational procedures, policies and good laboratory practice and also within their work duties, comply with the standards as required of UKAS and other relevant professional and Legislative Bodies (e.g. H.T.A., B.S.Q.R)

This post is secondment for 36 months to meet the needs of the service.


The post holder will be responsible for the development and implementation of training curriculum and management of Education and Training delivery within pathology.

The post holder will be a key member of the Pathology Team ensuring compliance with both regulatory [Health & Care Professions Council], accreditation [UK Accreditation Service (UKAS) and Institute of Biomedical Sciences requirements].

The post holder will be expected to regularly evaluate training effectiveness against compliance standards and continually improve educational resources.


The post holder will have the skills, knowledge and experience to promote a learning culture across all areas of Pathology, developing modern methods of evidence-based training, workforce development, skill mix and role re-design are central to effective patient focused Pathology services.

The post holder will be responsible for providing specialist advice and guidance to stakeholders within and outside the Pathology.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
