Job Summary:

Kiwa Fire Safety Compliance is looking for an Associate Director of Fire Engineering, the purpose of this role is to provide technical leadership within Kiwa Fire Safety Compliance FSE to ensure robust, achievable technical outcomes and ensure timely delivery of customer facing FSE works.

This role is located in Aylesbury with Hybrid Working. Kiwa, is a global top 20 leader in Testing, Inspection and Certification.

About the role:

  • Assist in the development of robust operational procedures, to ensure that the team provides high quality and consistent output
  • Identify skills and knowledge gaps and arrange internal and external training for team development as required
  • Provide support to engineers to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, including support in reviewing of reports
  • Work alongside the Director of Fire Safety Engineering to develop and maintain robust technical company standards
  • Ensure work is compliant with current legislation and meets with technical company standards
  • Representing KFS in relevant forums, conferences, technical committees and with publishing papers
  • Build and maintain good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide support to the Sales/Estimating team with producing fees/scope as and when required
  • Assist with overseeing the workload and resource in the team, including assigning new work and approval of timesheets and change orders
  • Develop a positive culture within the team

Do you have what it takes?:

  • Chartered Fire Engineer or significantly working towards Chartership with IFE or equivalent
  • Proficient knowledge of relevant standards and fire safety legislation
  • Excellent leadership, communication and project management skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and reach targets set independently
  • Relevant experience of balancing the needs of Customers, Shareholders and Employees
  • Dynamism, aptitude for problem solving and teamwork, accuracy, reliability and results oriented
  • Willingness to travel as and when required
  • Trusted to deal with confidential information
