We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate fundraiser to join our Direct Marketing Team and be a part of growing the individual giving programmes for our hospital charities - Guy's & St Thomas' Charity, Evelina London Children's Charity and Guy's Cancer Charity.

The Direct Marketing team work on fundraising campaigns across direct mail, marketing, digital, face to face, SMS and telemarketing.

The role will help to plan, develop and implement direct marketing appeals and campaigns as part of an integrated donor acquisition, retention and development programme for the hospital charities.


You will be responsible for recruiting new donors, as well as steward, thank and help retain our current donors through appeals, impact reports and our supporter journey.


You will work closely with the Direct Marketing Manager and Officer on various campaigns, as well as lead on some of your own projects.

This post will be offered on an a fixed-term contract for 12 months

This is a full-time post

Key responsibilities

  • To help the Direct Marketing team reach its annual targets on income, donor retention and new donor acquisition
  • Project manage and deliver fundraising campaigns using multiple channels (including direct mail, telephone, door to door, digital, paid social, etc)
  • To support other activities across the Direct Marketing team including text giving, telephone fundraising and stewardship
  • To liaise with hospital stakeholders to ensure briefing and delivery of campaigns
  • Liaise with the department's Supporter Care and Gift Processing teams to ensure that all donors receive appropriate acknowledgement within agreed timescales, including midvalue and highlevel donors
  • Work closely with the Charity's Communications and Digital teams to find, create and share useful content for campaigns, as well as to ensure all work adheres to brand and digital guidelines
  • Network with direct marketing colleagues from similar organisations and gather learnings from the wider sector which can be implemented within the programme
  • Report, review and analyse all campaigns when complete to help inform future developments and maximise income and ROI
  • Be present at hospital sites and engage with potential supporters with other members of the fundraising team

Skills, knowledge, and experience

Qualification/training

  • Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent
  • A degree or equivalent

Skills:

  • Able to prioritise and manage demanding workload and juggle multiple projects
  • Research, evaluation and evaluation methods
  • Knowledge of databases and data protection
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Strong editorial, copy writing and proofreading skills
  • Management of freelancers and agency contacts
  • Understanding of the principles of marketing
  • Understanding of the processes involved with direct mail: design, print, production and mail
  • Understanding of UK charity sector, NHS and broad healthcare sector
Experience

  • Experience of working in an office environment
