The Position

Assisting in the management of Driver Duties relating to dispatching, routing, maintaining roadworthy vehicles, tracking vehicles, ensuring process and procedure is always followed and quick effective resolution to client queries.


The position is also responsible for 5 x Category C Drivers and 4 x Van Drivers on a day to day basis.

The responsibilities of the role will be as follows:

  • Ability to manage and plan daily deliveries and collections
  • Good communication skills

  • Message board responses messages to be answered daily)
  • Inter depot updates and communications
  • Driver on road assistance
  • Assist in reporting and arranging fleet maintenance and repairs
  • Ensure all Ad-Hoc jobs are booked with relevant driver and allocated
  • Assist in producing management Reports as required
  • Ensure driver debrief is correctly completed and any issues are resolved and escalated quickly and effectively
  • Assist with fleet management
  • Assist to produce a daily handover report as per company requirement
  • Distribute driver scanners and ensure any repairs are recorded and carried out
  • Promote a safe working environment and ensure all staff are always compliant
  • Ensure all vehicles are booked out & all vehicle prechecks have been completed

The Individual
To suit this role, you will have and be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Excellent understanding of the English language, both written and verbal
  • Be an excellent communicator with the ability to manage and exceed expectations
  • Strong work ethic
  • Keen attention to detail and a desire to get things right the first time
  • You will be confident in using IT systems and computers
  • You will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive attitude towards change
  • Be a quick and eager learner whilst being able to ask for help and assistance when needed
  • Able to use your own initiative and make logical decisions
  • Good mathematical skills and be competent using excel, as well as other Microsoft office packages
  • Personable, polite, and friendly with an approachable nature
  • Good time management and the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Pallet distribution knowledge would be an advantage

Salary:
£21,744.46 per year
