Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic colleague with a passion for sexual health who can provide strong clinical leadership in Wakefield and work closely with commissioners and with the senior management teams at Spectrum's other Sexual Health services in Barnsley and Wigan.


The post holder will be expected to be competent in the management of all aspects of sexually transmitted infections, and management of those with a diverse range of contraceptive needs and have excellent clinical leadership skills within the service and within the wider sexual health networks in the locality and in the Yorkshire region.


We aim to be flexible in matching your availability with our work patterns and the needs of the service and therefore we are also able to offer part time and flexible working options.


The post holder will work closely with the Wakefield Head of Service and the Cluster Head of Service and will be professionally responsible to Spectrum's Associate Medical Director and Responsible Officer.

The post holder will also be the CQC Registered Manager for the service.


Spectrum has an active quality Team and there is opportunity to be involved in a range of quality improvement activities.

There is also an active research and development department with the opportunity to be involved in clinical trials and other national research projects.


The service is actively involved in teaching and training internal and external students and trainees in contraception and STI's and you will be expected to take an active leadership role in the planning and delivery of any teaching sessions.

The post holder is expected to be on the Specialist Register - Genito-urinary Medicine.
