Job Description - Finance FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our Finance team at Subsea Technology & Rentals, based in Aberdeen. We are a growing business, operating globally in the Oil & Gas, Offshore Renewables and Marine Science industries.

We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced individual to step into the role of Finance FP&A, reporting to the Finance Director.


The primary function of this role is to support the Finance Director with financial forecasting and support the merger & acquisition (M&A) process with financial analysis and integration.

The Finance FP&A will own the forecast and business plan model and drive forecasting process, as well as variance analysis, among other responsibilities.

The ideal applicant will have previous experience in financial planning, analysis and modelling, with expert excel skills. A bachelor's degree in finance and/or accounting and experience of Power BI would be an advantage.

Main Responsibilities

  • Drive budget and forecast process.
  • Own and maintain budget forecast model and business plan model.
  • Create and maintain cash forecast model.
  • Assist with the establishment of new entities.
  • Support M&A process with financial analysis and integration.
  • Develop finance related processes and procedures.
  • Provide monthly margin analysis for hire, sale product and service.
  • Working with FP&A Analyst to develop finance dashboard reporting.
  • Document model processes and calculations.
  • Adhoc analysis support as business needs develop.
Requirements of Role

  • Previous experience analysing financial data.
  • Working knowledge of financial strategies.
  • Ability to present financial information to a nonfinancial audience.
  • Experience of management reporting.
  • Able to balance own workload and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent analytical and collaboration skills.
  • Expert IT skills, including Microsoft office packages such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Professional accounting qualification would be preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Prior experience working in the Energy sector would be an advantage.
  • Someone who can demonstrate core STR values.
