Job Description:

Due to maternity leave, we are looking for a Research Associate to join our first-class In-House QC team. You will support the QC testing of Abcam's flag antibodies and antibody conjugates portfolio.

This is a very exciting opportunity for someone to have an immediate and positive impact within the team and ultimately support researchers and scientists across the world to discover more, faster


Roles and responsibilities:

  • Carry out the QC of our antibody and antibody conjugates portfolio in line with production schedules with mínimal direction and supervision using techniques such as: Western Blot, ELISA, ChIP and Peptide Array.
  • Prepare and execute SOPs, maintain accurate records.
  • Conduct troubleshooting activities and contribute towards process optimisation initiatives with operational excellence in mind.
  • Develop effective relationships across a variety of different teams within Abcam
  • Ensure compliance with Quality policies, SOPs and Health and Safety procedures
  • Contribute to the housekeeping tasks within the relevant Lab areas.
  • Support our Biochemicals division in weighing of sensitive chemicals and routine lyophilisation.

Qualifications:


You will have a degree in biological sciences or equivalent practical experience within a laboratory with the ability to use life science laboratory techniques.

It would be great if you have Western Blot experience or some knowledge.

You should have a flexible approach to work, being able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.

The ability to work accurately and to follow both written and verbal instructions whilst maintaining accurate and detailed records together with excellent communication skills are a must.


You will be a team player, highly self-motivated, hardworking, have excellent organisational capabilities and deliver results consistently to a high-standard in a fast-paced environment.
