Salary:
£22,000 Per Annum + Excellent benefits

We operate the exciting new West Midlands Cycle Hire scheme on behalf of Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) and the West Midlands County Authority (WMCA).

We operate 1500 bikes and eBikes within the region including in Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Coventry.


As the Redistribution Operative you will drive across Birmingham redistributing Scheme Bicycles to increase customer hires and to collect Bicycles for Service and Repair to return to the depots.

To work with Control Centre colleagues to ensure the maximum number of Bicycles can be collected and redistributed each shift, minimising lost time, and providing great service for our customers.

You won't be doing this alone either.

Our team is made up of professional, friendly, and supportive teammates, including managers who began their careers with Serco as Redistribution Drivers who now hold Team Leader, Operations Manager and Contract Manager titles.

These include, but are not limited to, Health & Safety courses, Team Leader and Management training and a supportive management team who will provide guidance and advice to ensure you achieve all that you want to with Serco.

About you
Ideally you'll need to be an experienced delivery driver, courier, bike mechanic or similar (or even just have a passion for bikes and public transport) with the following abilities/experience

  • Must have;
  • Clean full UK driving license
  • Full training in safe driving techniques will be provided
Desired;

  • Commercial driving experience in the West Midlands area
  • Manual handling/HSE training
  • Previous experience working in the customer service environment with ability to build effective relationships.
  • Experience working in a transport environment.
  • Interest in the promotion and provision of cycling in the West Midlands.
