As a business they are renowned for their unwavering commitment to sustainability and delivering innovative engineering solutions.As an Associate Sustainability Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in assisting clients in achieving their sustainability goals, navigating intricate regulatory frameworks, and driving environmental stewardship within the built environment.
You will join one of the largest and most influential sustainability teams in the UK, collaborating with industry-leading experts and gaining exposure to a diverse range of projects.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert sustainability advice to clients, specialising in either energy, certifications or embodied carbon.
- Conduct detailed analysis, assessments, and modelling to optimise energy performance and reduce carbon emissions in buildings and infrastructure projects.
- Lead and manage the certification process for sustainability standards such as BREEAM, LEED, or WELL.
- Develop and implement strategies to minimise embodied carbon throughout the project lifecycle, from design and construction to operation and decommissioning.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and project managers, to integrate sustainability principles into project deliverables.
- Keep up with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies related to sustainability in the built environment, and provide innovative solutions to clients.
- Mentor and support junior consultants, fostering their professional development and promoting knowledge sharing.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique sustainability requirements and providing tailored solutions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, or Architecture.
- Proven experience in a Senior role, specialising in energy, certifications, or embodied carbon.
- Indepth knowledge of sustainability principles, standards, and best practices, such as BREEAM, LEED, or WELL.
- Strong technical expertise in energy modelling and analysis software (e.g., IES VE, EnergyPlus, or similar).
- Familiarity with wholelife carbon assessment methodologies and tools.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deliver results within deadlines.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to clients and stakeholders.
- A proactive and innovative mindset, constantly seeking opportunities to improve sustainability outcomes.
- Professional certifications such as BREEAM Assessor, LEED AP, or equivalent, would be advantageous.
