Salary £8.91 - £9.50 per hour

Hockley Private Nursing Home is situated in the heart of the peaceful Co. Armagh countryside about four miles North East of Armagh City.

The original purpose was a Georgian Gentleman's Residence.

It is a listed building which has been lovingly renovated to comply with the Health and Social Care Trust standards and is surrounded by enclosed courtyards and outbuildings in a six acre setting of lawns, ornamental trees and mature woodland.

It's boast picturesque landscapes with all manner of fauna roaming freely.

It is our sincere objective to provide a happy, homely, non-clinical and non-institutionalised atmosphere, giving support, security and assistance to elderly people who for various reasons are no longer capable of coping either alone or with help in their own environment.

We endeavor to encourage residents to lead and maintain a normal life as possible, maintaining personal dignity, independence and individuality.

This will involve physical, emotional and spiritual help.

Domestic Assistants Responsibilities Include but are not limited to

Keeping all areas of the home, including all toilets. This includes washing, dusting, polishing, vacuum cleaning and sweeping as appropriate
Ensuring that all cleaning equipment and materials are maintained in a safe, clean and efficient working condition
Report any required repairs to the Administrator
Wear protective clothing in accordance to COSHH and Health and Hygiene regulations
Maintain a suitable stock of suitable cleaning materials
Sorting washing, loading and unloading the machines taking care to use the correct temperatures depending on type of fabric
Sluicing of linen where necessary, hand washing of residents clothing as required
Ironing and pressing of clothing and linen when necessary
Sorting and folding residents clothing
