Senior Chemist

Responsibilities include;

Custom synthesis/NPI projects (including design of synthetic routes, improvement of existing routes, syntheses, troubleshooting and optimisation of problematic steps) are efficiently and effectively completed.
Direct line management of Junior Chemist, Chemist I, Chemist II, Senior Chemist I
An ability to plan and manage PD (product development) projects
Up to date knowledge of relevant current literature and technical developments
Meet the required key performance indicators:
Number of batches submitted to QC on time as a % of batches scheduled per month
Number of batches within specification (yield and QCS specification) as a % of batches scheduled per month
Batches completed ontime
Productivity (number of batches/reactions per chemist per month)

Knowledge, Understanding and Technical Skills.

Knowledge and experience in:

Synthetic organic chemistry
Setting up and working up reactions
Purification of materials (column chromatography, crystallisation, precipitation, distillation)
Analysis by TLC, HPLC, LCMS, NMR
Process improvement projects
Enthusiastic team player with exceptional communication skills
Attention to detail and accuracy of work
Flexibility to changing operating conditions
An ability to work methodically and reliably in a highly organised manner
Proactively works to resolve tough situations and pushes through solutions
Commercial awareness and ambitious for personal and business growth
