Description
Assist in the promotion a proactive Health and Safety culture throughout the Trust in order to assist in the reduction of incidents, accidents and near miss events.
Provide the highest standard of professional health and safety advice and training to Trust staff, (in line with CSTF requirements where applicable), in supporting the management of non-clinical risks and promoting use of safe working practices throughout the Trust.
To promote the Trust's values in creating a safe and secure environment in which to deliver the highest standards of clinical care to the Trust's patients.

The post holder will predominately provide specialist advice and guidance to all Trust employees, but they will also be expected to advise on patient related accidents, injuries and clinical environments on safety matters.
Managing Datix and investigating incidents, accidents and near miss events
Managing the online COSHH database
Health and Safety Training
Policy Writing and Updating
Auditing and writing reports
Providing specialist advice and guidance on health and safety issues
Advise staff regarding suitable safety equipment and carry out safety risk assessments.

Working closely with the Health, Safety & Security Team, Divisions, Corporate Directorates, Project Teams, Senior and Line Mangers, Technical Specialists, Staff and Contractors in the management of Trust Health & Safety risks, concerns, incidents and learning.
Assist the Trust in monitoring compliance against the requirements of relevant Health & Safety related legislation, Approved Codes of Practice, Standards and Guidance (including those specific to the NHS), and against relevant Trust policies and arrangements.
Assist with the development of relevant Policies, Procedures, Protocols and Guidelines in relation to Health & Safety, and in the delivery of the overall Trust Health & Safety management system.
