- We are the Environment Agency. We protect and improve the environment. We work with government, local councils, businesses, civil society groups and communities to make our environment a better place for people and wildlife.
This role is varied and draws upon a diverse range of transferrable skills.
Working closely with other teams, you will be expected to:
- Develop and plan our pipeline & programmes of work
- Track pipeline & programme progress and performance
- Collect, analyse and interpret data
- Advise on programme risks and opportunities
- Work closely with project delivery teams, including local authorities
- Prepare reports and presentations highlighting programme performance and risks.
You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident.
This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
- The team
- Our team advises on how to achieve the best outcomes in terms of value for money and efficiency. Our insights support work on flood risk management assets. We balance the impact of climate change with supporting economic growth, the wellbeing of our communities and the environment. We work closely with the Trent Regional Flood & Coastal Committee, local partners and internal teams on pipeline & programme development and approaches to funding.
- Experience/skills requiredThrough experience to date, you should be able to demonstrate most of the following:
- Strong programme/project management knowledge and skills. A leader and supporter of others in programme delivery
- Strong, effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent at developing and maintaining good working relationships with others
- Strong data management skills, and experience of interpreting large data sets, particularly in Microsoft Excel
- Strong organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail
- A breadth of knowledge of Flood Risk Management
- Initiative, flexibility, innovation, and a problem solver able to make decisions to improve efficiency & productivity
- Coaching and mentoring skills.
