The Company:

Our client supplies specialty ingredients into a number of Food and Drink Manufacturers not only in the UK but also worldwide.

The business operates out of a state-of-the-art production facility. The site operates a customer centric, production focused,centre of excellence.

The production facility is BRC Grade AA Certified and has the highest quality standards.

Product innovation and development are an important part of the business and are key to the strategic planned growth over the next 5 years.

Through the in-house R&Dpersonnel and facilities, collaborations with key partners and links to the science community they strive to ensure they are always at the leading edge of product development and able to sustain high levels of quality control.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager you will mainly be responsible for the purchasing of raw materials ensuring optimum stock levels to meet the production/manufacturing plan and customer needs.

You will be responsible for your own portfolio ofsuppliers and raw materials, working with the rest of the business to establish forecast requirements and managing the supplier relationships at the appropriate level.

In this role you will be Responsible for:

Your own portfolio of suppliers and raw materials
Supporting the purchasing manager in executing local and global strategic sourcing initiatives.
Driving spend and opportunity analysis to prioritize strategic sourcing opportunities.
Building and maintaining solid relationships with supply chain partners.
Establishing and implementing countermeasures to compensate for negative performance and market trends.
Driving innovation and a focus on continuous improvement within purchasing and supply chain.
Sourcing of new suppliers and the issuing of RFQ's.
Conducting competitive bid exercises to test pricing and sourcing strategies.
Addressing and resolving commercial/performance issues with suppliers.
Proven track record in a supply chain / procurement role, ideally from an FMCG background.
Degree qualified or other relevant qualifications.
Good interpersonal skills, particularly team working and building.
Ability to consistently hit deadlines
Sage Line 50 experience preferred but not essential
The ability to develop working partnerships throughout all levels of the business.
