Job Overview

This will include electrical best practice and implementation of industry standards.

Responsibilities:

Review design requirements & assist engineering team with technical aspects of designs including specification of materials.
Produce design calculations and corresponding paperwork to manufacture designs (resistor element and design overview sheets).
Produce and approve drawings, BOMs and other design information issued for manufacture.
Product testing when required.
R&D work as agreed with the Engineering Manager. This will include the design, setting up and running of test equipment, working alongside our lead R&D engineer.
Compile and maintain an engineering library to include technical reports, supplier and raw material information, design data and methods.
Conduct technical investigations, develop and maintain appropriate design and support processes, carrying out root cause analysis and initiating corrective action as necessary.
Provide technical support to Production, Sales, Service and Customer Support.
To deliver projects on schedule and on budget, demonstrating the ability to handle the pressure of managing a complex range of projects, a high volume of work, within a fast pace of implementation.

Skills Essential

Desirable

Experience of working with sheet metal.
Working knowledge of mechanical engineering practices materials, FEA, fixings, fabrication etc.
Experience of product approval processes within the automotive industry.

Qualifications:

Degree qualified in a role/industry relevant industry
HNC/HND or equivalent
Industry relevant Project Management qualifications would be advantageous but not essential

Experience
