Rotherham Register Office is a busy service providing appointments for birth and death registrations and notices of marriage and civil partnership.

We provide ceremonies for marriage and civil partnerships, citizenship, baby naming and renewal of vows within multiple venues across the borough.

The service is also responsible for producing copy certificates of births, deaths and marriages as far back as the 1st of July 1837 when civil registration began.

It is an exciting year for the service which is embarking upon a programme of transformation to modernise and improve the service provided to the public.

You would join an amazing team of Registration and Bereavement Services staff who are all supportive, encouraging, conscientious and hardworking.

You would also be joining a Council who was recently recognised by the Local Government Chronicle and was awarded the 'Most Improved Council'.

In your role you will undertake a variety of duties on a rota basis as follows:
Administrative duties in preparation for and during citizenship ceremonies,

Registering marriages at ceremonies taking place at venues across the borough,

Producing copy certificates on behalf of the Superintendent Registrar,

Register Births of new babies,

Register Deaths that have occurred in the Borough,

Work some weekends/ bank holidays on a rota basis to provide cover for urgent burials or to register marriages and support our Deputy Superintendent Registrars at other ceremonies across the Borough.

You must be available to work regularly at weekends, public holidays and occasionally out of normal office hours on a rota basis,

You must always have a smart and professional appearance. Uniform is provided.

For an informal discussion about the roles available please contact Ashleigh Wilford, Superintendent Registrar or Leanne O'Donnell, Registration Team Leader on
