Salary:
Band E £22,369 - £24, Hours Per Week)
£13,421 - £14, Hours Per Week)
Regular weekend and bank holiday working is paid in addition to salary.
There are two posts available.
Post 1: 37 Hours per week; 9:00-17:24 with a one-hour lunch break Monday to Friday
Post 2: 22.2 Hours per week; 9:00-17:24 with a one-hour lunch break Monday to Wednesday.
Rotherham Register Office is a busy service providing appointments for birth and death registrations and notices of marriage and civil partnership.
We provide ceremonies for marriage and civil partnerships, citizenship, baby naming and renewal of vows within multiple venues across the borough.
The service is also responsible for producing copy certificates of births, deaths and marriages as far back as the 1st of July 1837 when civil registration began.
It is an exciting year for the service which is embarking upon a programme of transformation to modernise and improve the service provided to the public.
You would join an amazing team of Registration and Bereavement Services staff who are all supportive, encouraging, conscientious and hardworking.
You would also be joining a Council who was recently recognised by the Local Government Chronicle and was awarded the 'Most Improved Council'.
In your role you will undertake a variety of duties on a rota basis as follows:Administrative duties in preparation for and during citizenship ceremonies,
Registering marriages at ceremonies taking place at venues across the borough,
Producing copy certificates on behalf of the Superintendent Registrar,
Register Births of new babies,
Register Deaths that have occurred in the Borough,
Work some weekends/ bank holidays on a rota basis to provide cover for urgent burials or to register marriages and support our Deputy Superintendent Registrars at other ceremonies across the Borough.
