Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Specialistto join the RSPCA Data and Insight Department for a period of 12 months.


This role will underpin the delivery of data which informs managers, Heads of Departments, directors and trustees on the Society's current financial position and maximises potential income to support RSPCA frontline services.

As Data Specialist working for the RSPCA you will hold responsibility for supporter data capability and for driving solutions.

You will work closely with wider teams to provide reliable, consistent, fit for purpose data sets to underpin supporter engagement and income generation divisional strategy and decision making.

A key part of this role is to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the data held in SRM.


The role will be hybrid working from our South East Regional Hub - Horsham, West Sussex, or our London Hub in Blackfriars with a high focus on remote working.

Trips to our hub will be for core collaboration.

What we are looking for in you:

  • Proficient in production of reports and generating insight/recommendations
  • Ability to critically analyse client needs and deliver a business focussed solution.
  • Proficient in documenting data structure in the form of data dictionary.
  • Extensive experience of managing business targets and understanding of KPI's
  • High level of communication skills to explain complex technical issues to non technical colleagues
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Maths or IT Degree Level Education
  • Highly numerate with proven advanced Excel/Google Sheets ability.
  • Experience of working with large data sets.
  • Experience in a coding language
  • Ideally SQL.
  • Strong analytical experience including data management, manipulation, interpretation and cleansing.
  • Experience with analysing financial data, including forecasting and modeling.

Here's a snapshot of some of the key work you'll be doing:

  • Identify data quality issues and data inconsistencies through advanced data analysis across multiple systems and data sets.
  • Implement Business Intelligence data management strategies, advanced technical concepts and deliver system architectural requirements from a business standpoint.
  • Perform rigorous data testing across supporter database, BI and Analytics tools.
  • Collaborate with the Insight Manager, Database Manager, Response Handling Manager and Head of Department to assess current tool set, identifying potential gaps that impact service delivery of the Data and Insight teams.
  • Own the delivery of technical support and assistance to Data and Insight teams for reporting and analysis.
  • Own data mapping processes between systems, including data flow supporting Einstein dashboards.
  • Ensure workflows and communications are optimised.
  • Perform code review and quality assurance of all reports created to support Data and Insight processes.
  • Manage production of data definition documentation, inc
