We currently have an opportunity for an experienced team manager to join our Head of Region, Nick Hougham, and his dedicated team of funeral professionals within our J W Tate & Son brand as a Business Leader.


As a Business Leader, you will be responsible for how your team support and guide our customers through the end-of-life journey, ensuring excellent service within our Crematoria and Funeral Brands.

Alongside this, you will also be responsible for developing and empowering your teams, whilst growing brand awareness and profitability within the communities you serve, in line with our long-term strategy.

What will I be doing as a Business Leader?

  • You will be empowered to manage an endoflife business autonomously, with the objective of growing market share within your community through consistent delivery of excellent customer service
  • You will set objectives and build and execute on a business plan to achieve those objectives. This will test your skills across several facets including service delivery, commerciality, marketing, finance, and leadership
  • To succeed, you will have to build a strong team and you will use your leadership skills to coach, develop and mentor them so that they fulfill their potential and exceed expectations
  • You will also become a bastion of Dignity's values and work to embed the Dignity principles into your team and the wider community. We aim to foster a caring, compassionate, and respectful culture
What do I need to have to be successful?

  • This position would be ideal for someone looking to take the first step into a multisite role. having previous management experience
  • You'll be comfortable being uncomfortable, with selfdiscipline, enthusiasm, and the ability to inspire your team.
  • You'll act as a role model to your team, protecting your brand through problemsolving and process management whilst consistently growing your people.
  • The ability to influence, build and maintain longterm relationships both within stakeholder management and working within your local community
  • Ideally, you will have experience within the funeral sector and supervisory or management level.

What do you get?

  • An annual salary £33,293.00
  • Accruing days holiday + bank holidays
  • Sick pay eligibility after 12 month qualifying period
  • Life Assurance 2 x salary
