It has built just under 40% of the UK's mainline train fleet, all the fleets currently in service with London Underground and Dublin's LUAS.

It is building the UK's biggest train programme in a generation - AVENTRA - for seven of the UK's largest train operating companies, is ramping up to build the next generation of Greater Dublin's commuter trains, DART+ as well as 54 HS2 high-speed trains in a Joint Venture.

Alstom also supports 66% of the UK fleet through its Services business and is the UK's leading CP6 signalling & infrastructure provider.

Employing 6,000 people across the UK and Ireland, we design, build and test trains at the UK's largest end-to-end train manufacturing factory in Derby and operate major sites at Widnes, Crewe, Ilford and Plymouth, as well as 30 train services depots across the UK&I.

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Control Systems team in a Senior Testing capacity.

You'll be working within a niche area of the business focusing on the latest technology solutions and innovation within Railway Signalling.

What are my responsibilities?

The department and role is expected to lead the way to new and exciting technological advancements, while delivering innovative solutions to those current problems with a large product range of approved technology within Railway Control Systems.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

The role of a System Tester is a safety critical position and vital to the validation of the signalling Control System and how it works in accordance with legal and Network Rail Line and Group standards.

Therefore, you must be an experienced Railway Systems Engineer, able to interpret Control Systems Design and modern Control Systems architecture.

You'll be an experienced Lead or Senior Tester within Railway Control Systems and be practiced in data testing of modern Railway Control Systems, such as WESTCAD/MCS / IECC, TDMs and Train Describers.
