What we are looking for
We are looking for a
Temporary Accommodations Assistant to join our Temporary Accommodations Team in Housing Solutions.

The successful person will share our values, commitment, and motivation to make a difference for our residents, clients, and communities.


About the Role


You will work alongside our Temporary Accommodations Team with a responsibility to support vulnerable people to prevent and relieve homelessness in our temporary accommodation and to support them to move on to more suitable accommodation.


Responsibilities will include:

- accommodation inventories
- communal health and safety checks, fire alarm testing and fire evacuation practice
- ensuring void targets are met
- carrying out cleaning duties as appropriate to ensure a quick turnaround of accommodation.


You will also carry out viewings of properties offered through the Gateway to Homechoice housing register and support households rehoused from temporary accommodation.


You will be required to work with clients to understand their housing and support needs, as well as managing the properties that they live in.


About You
Have you had experience of working with clients with complex needs as well as families?

Do you have knowledge of welfare benefits, the housing register, and the move on routes from temporary accommodation?

Do you have a clear understanding of homelessness, the temporary accommodation journey and the issues facing households who find themselves in a housing crisis?

Do you pay attention to detail, have good listening skills, empathy and are you able to identify clients' needs?
