Defence Equipment
The Operational Planner role is based within our Defence Equipment business area.


Defence equipment stores, maintains, repairs and overhauls military vehicles and equipment so the UK army is able to train and deploy in a moment.

As well as supporting vehicles that are already in service, the team carries out vehicle assembly integration and tests new vehicles.


The role


The difference our new Operational Planner will make, As an Operational Planner, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary.

Planning in MRO Activity on various military platforms and equipment, across multiple sites, and engaging with Production Teams to ensure the work is completed on time.

Day to day, you'll plan in MRO activity based on capacity, capability and material availability. Where applicable expedite resource availability, SQEP, and material shortfalls to meet both the customer and business priorities. You will also respond to new demands promptly and efficiently, creating plans for production from customer demands.

Ensure amendments to plans are not implemented until checks of capability, capacity and materials have been factored in. Furthermore, develop excellent and effective communication lines with the Site Supply Chain, P&SC, and Operations teams. Lastly build close working relationships with Operational, and support functions (e.g. Central Order Team, Operational Planning Managers, JAMES Administration, Customer Services, the Hub) to deliver a joined up service.

This role provides 3 days on site at our Warminster site with 2 days working from home.


Essential experience

  • Planning experience
  • Military systems experience desirable
  • Resource or material role experience
  • Level 3 NVQ or relevant experience
  • You must hold or have ability to obtain SC security clearance
