The Post
University of Stirling (UoS) has been awarded an Economic and Social Research Council Impact Accelerator Account. The project will be known internally as the Stirling Social Science Impact Accelerator Account (SSSIAA).

This programme is dedicated to building the capacity of Social Sciences academics, their multidisciplinary academic partners and their non-academic collaborators, to enhance the impact, knowledge mobilization and commercialisation of their research.

This project will support the step change in achieving the University's Mission Orientated Research ambitions.

The SSSIAA Administrator will be part of the Operational Management Group and support the overall running of the project on a day-to-day basis.

They will support all aspects of programme planning and coordination to facilitate the successful delivery of the £1.25million programme over 5 years, ensuring that it achieves its required deliverables within the specified tolerances.


There is an expectation that this will be a hybrid role, partially campus based and partially working remotely, according to the UoS's Agile Working Framework.


The Role
The SSSIAA Administrator will be responsible for supporting day-to-day and management of activities on this major research project. Details of the project are included below.

Reporting to the SSSIAA Manager, they will work with a large team of academics, industry partners, local authorities and voluntary organisations to ensure effective delivery of the project and its impact over five years.


Description of Duties

  • Provide direct administrative support to the SSSIAA Manager and the SSSIAA Director and deputy Director in all project tasks
  • Schedule and monitor project activities, working closely with the Project academic and partner team to deliver project aims
  • Facilitate liaison with external partners and a wider circle of stakeholders, nationally and internationally, acting as a key point of contact, maintaining and developing links
  • Organise events and meetings, virtually and facetoface, internally and externally
  • Work with the SSSIAA Manager to establish protocols for data management, monitor their use and ensure appropriate data archiving. Be responsible for ensuring that all information and records are managed in compliance with the university, legislative requirements and codes of practice
  • Manage project communications including social media and web presence
  • Monitor project resources and ensure their effective deployment
  • Other duties required commensurate with the grade, including:
  • Maintaining and administering the Faculty of Social Science REF Impact Case Study Repository of Impacts
  • Maintaining and administering the Faculty of Social Sciences Peer-Review College for REF Output assessment
  • Supporting Researchrelated events in the Faculty of Social Sciences
  • Providing administrative assistance to the Faculty's Research and Knowledge Exchange Committee

Essential Criteria

Qualifications:


  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant academic discipline (where no formal qualification is held, additional relevant experience is required above that noted below)
- _Knowledge & Experience

  • Demonstrable Project administration experience in multistakeholder contexts
  • Experience of working with project partners from a range of sectors, including business, government and the voluntary sector
  • Experience and understanding of the demands of academic research and impact generation
  • Experience of organising events for a range of different audiences
  • Experience of managing communications, using different media, including social media, web presence and printed materials
  • Understanding of effective data management and archiving
  • Active interest in and understanding of population ageing and/or home design
