Sales and (telecommunications or telecoms OR "unified communications" OR UC OR CCAAS OR UCAAS OR MPLS OR "managed hosting" OR SD-WAN OR WAN OR VOIP OR PBX OR SIP or "leased lines" or "managed services") or "account manager" or "account director"


Account Director for a major UK managed services provider

Up to £70k plus 100% commission and £5k car allowance and benefits

Home based (although 2 days a week in the London office would normally be required.


Overall purpose of the job:

  • To secure new business within existing client accounts, increasing our revenues in line with set targets.

Key responsibilities for this job:


  • To sell new business to existing accounts & renew and upgrade existing accounts where appropriate
  • To grow wallet share within large organisations where spend with us is mínimal
  • To leverage potential within group customers by going High & Wide within the group
  • Maintaining and developing client relationships
  • Working with clients' management teams to understand particular business strategies
  • Evaluating those strategies and ensuring our readiness to keep pace with the implementation of new programs, projects, or features consistent with those strategies
  • Increasing the revenue opportunity within each client's business portfolio as it relates to utilising additional services or product offerings
  • Tracking and escalation of client issues alongside the client relationship team
  • Establish and coordinate planned visits at the customer location
  • Inform clients of new services, partnerships, and/or products as they are announced or released

Knowledge and experience required:


  • Sales experience in a similar role & industry
  • Great communication skills across all parts of the business
  • Knowledge of the following communication product suites:
  • Cloud & IT services, UC&C
  • Data (MPLS, VPLS, SD-WAN), Security
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to both the IT department and to the client in understandable terms
  • Able to work under pressure making timely and informed decisions to tight timescales, whilst maintaining attention to detail
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is essential
  • Well organised and selfmotivated team player
