These growth plans include implementing a real time end-to-end Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform, a multi-million-pound investment, and part of our long-term digital transformation initiative.

Focused on advancing our technology and integrating web-based navigation, this EHR will allow HCA UK clinicians and colleagues to enhance patient safety, quality and care and to maintain our outstanding ratings and continue to be a global market leader in complex care.

Therefore, we are investing in a new workforce to lead this change, and we are actively recruiting now for a 2023 start, focused on change management, transforming work practices, and project delivery of goals and objectives.


Specific deliverables in the role:


  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the organization's business goals and objectives
  • Analyze existing EHR systems and recommend improvements or replacements as necessary
  • Design and implement new EHR systems that meet the organization's needs, considering factors such as functionality, scalability, security, and integration with other systems
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to understand their technology needs and ensure that EHR systems align with those needs
  • Develop and maintain technology architecture standards and guidelines for the organization, ensuring compliance with industry best practices
  • Develop and maintain enterprisewide technology roadmaps that align with the organization's strategic objectives
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and other external partners to ensure that technology solutions meet the organization's needs and requirements
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other IT teams, including software developers and system administrators
  • Stay uptodate with emerging trends and technologies in EHR systems and related areas, such as data analytics and artificial intelligence, and identify opportunities for the organization to leverage these technologies

About you:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • At least 10 years of experience in IT, with a focus on enterprise architecture and EHR systems
  • Strong knowledge of EHR systems, including their functionality, implementation, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and best practices related to EHR systems, such as HL7 and FHIR
  • Experience with enterprisewide technology architecture and design, including data modeling and integration
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to think strategically and holistically about technology solutions
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization
