As we continue to evolve, our ambition for further growth requires our proactive and friendly Transport Fleet Team to help meet and support these exciting challenges, so we need to expand our team with this new role.

We transport Motorcycles all over the country; delivering to customers and collecting to bring back to our sites in Egham and Yateley.


About the role


Reporting to the Transport Manager, you will play a pivotal part in our continued success by Driver briefing and de-briefing to ensure the accuracy of our data and reporting of defects, accidents and delivery issues.

You will keep up to date with new regulations and developments in the Transport Industry; set up systems to deliver these in-house and ensure we are fully compliant.


  • Support the Manager with investigation meetings where appropriate and provide the metrics for the Transport Manager on driver performance against agreed targets.
  • Liaise with maintenance contractors to ensure the planned vehicle MOT/service requirements are completed and the arrangement of additional/replacement fleet where necessary have the legislative documentation.
  • Ensure safety and transport regulations are adhered to with training needs identified and the operator licencing undertakings considered in all aspects of administration and decision making within the operation.
  • Make sure that any accident or near miss documentation is completed and reported in a timely manner, including the completion of any appropriate insurance paperwork if necessary.
  • Enable us to maintain full legal compliance of the operation by observing, monitoring, analysing and keeping records of the drivers' hours, speed limits and tachograph requirements. Report on infringements.
  • Driver licencing: check HGV entitlement, keep records and carry routine checks using Check Master to ensure no change to status.
  • Driver digital tachograph card and Driver CPC card: validate, keep records of expiry date and card number. Conduct routine checks.
  • Check that all safety defect checklists for vehicles are correctly completed and act on reported driver nonreportable defects as appropriate.
  • Driver Training: to cover assessment, refreshers, coupling and uncoupling, manual entries, driver hours and breaks; includes working time directive. Includes writing training materials, procedures, work instructions and toolbox talks.
  • Coaching: review driver performance, speeding, idling, MPG results and camera alert footage feedback.
  • Drivers digital card hours and timesheet check. Leadin and leadout check.
  • Vehicle digital unit downloads and company card lockin and lockout. Includes driver download adherence.
  • Vehicle inspections (internal and external) Record/communicate damage.
  • Deal promptly and effectively with problems within your remit and escalate those outside it.
  • Ensure the drivers meet the required standards in terms of customer service, courtesy, honesty, compliance, safety and efficiency.

About you

  • Proven, relevant experience within a Transport/ Distribution/Logistics/Supply Chain environment with a sound knowledge of EU regulations and Transport Working Time Directive and DVSA Compliance.
  • Demonstrably high level of process accuracy and information gathering ability. We will train you on our systems.
  • Able to prioritise, ensure deadlines are met through effective time management and make good decisions under pressure.
  • Great eye for detail with a good range of IT skills
  • Tachograph Software, Smartsheet, Excel and SAP equivalent (IFS) as well as Word.
  • Possess strong communication skills, flexible in approach and adaptable to changing situations; able to work collaboratively within the team and a diverse audience.
  • Passionate about delivering an outstanding level of customer service for both internal and external customers.
