Demand Planner - Manchester, United Kingdom - ALEXANDER STEELE LTD
Description
We are looking for a Demand Planner to join a food manufacturing business based in South Manchester.
You will work as part of a small team responsible for adequate raw materials and packaging on site to fulfil our customers' expectations.
Duties:
- Identifying any stock shortages and rectifying through plan amendments, liaising with the Commercial Team as necessary and highlighting any issues that could affect customer service and OTIF.
- Ensure the most costeffective plan is produced by minimising changeovers and production runs.
- Work closely with Procurement to ensure optimum levels of raw materials are available to achieve plans.
- Assist in the management of all on and offsite raw materials and packaging.
- Raise and manage purchase orders raised with the supplier base, ensuring stock is delivered on the agreed date.
- Work with the Supply Chain Manager to highlight capacity constraints alongside forecast information received to ensure adequate lead time is given to both the Supply and Customer base.
- Attend daily production meetings to provide feedback around targets and discuss plan changes.
- Assist as required in resolving stock discrepancies and managing both slow moving and obsolete stock.
- Produce and manage daily and longterm production plans.
Skills / Experience Required
- Previous experience within FMCG industry (Food preferred)
- Experience of planning/scheduling
- A good understanding of production processes
- Ability to analyse, interpret and present data being proficient in MS Office (particularly Excel)
- Possess attention to detail and can demonstrate an organised and logical approach
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise in a fastpaced environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, but to also show a strong initiative to take on extra responsibilities and challenges when the need arises
- Experience using MRP is beneficial
On Offer:
- £28,000 - £32,000 DOE
- Monday Friday
- 40 hours per week
- 31 Days annual leave
