SQL Server Database Administrator - Counter Terrorism Policing HQ


Salary:
£45,192 to £49,280 plus a Location allowance of £1,721. You will receive £45,192 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £49,280 will be via incremental progression.

Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) protects the United Kingdom each and every day. To support this vital work, we have an extensive secure network for national police IT. As an SQL Server Database Administrator, you'll keep business-critical systems running so our team has the tech to combat threats. Join us and build your skills while keeping the country safe.


An experienced Database Administrator (DBA), you'll join a talented team of DBAs and Application Analysts working in an ITIL-aligned environment.

Your task will be to provide full lifecycle production assistance to development, infrastructure, testing and finally, production. It means managing and maintaining SQL Server database environments across various platforms according to best practice. With your proven SQL database skills, you'll be a Subject Matter Expert.


You'll therefore be comfortable tackling all things database, from installation and troubleshooting to optimising server availability and maintaining back-up procedures.

Ideally, you'll be familiar with high availability set-ups such as Always on High-Availability, Mirroring, log shipping and Microsoft Clustering solutions.

Occasionally your expertise may be needed at other sites or outside office hours.

Flexible and prepared to travel, you'll be part of on-call rota, performing critical maintenance work to keep CTP systems functional.
