Description

This role will assist, under the supervision of the visitor services team, with the day to day operations of the Moors Valley Information Point.

This aspect of the role will include serving customers, handling cash, processing various paperwork, including car park season tickets and direct debits, and selling, monitoring and replenishing shop stock.

To work in partnership with the Moors Valley Team Leader and the Moors Valley Duty Rangers to ensure the efficient delivery of an effective and reputable customer journey.

The role may also involve assisting in retail development.

Specific examples include;

  • Serve a variety of customers and help with any queries they have and any issues that arise.
Be an initial point of contact for all customers.

  • Process paperwork for all season tickets, both annual and monthly, on both the epos and ANPR system.
  • Monitor and replenish shop stock, assisting the retail development ranger to ensure the successful delivery of the retail aspect of the visitor centre.
This role is based at Moors Valley Country Park and Forest in the heart of the New Forest.

At Moors Valley there is something for everyone, whether you want to enjoy a peaceful walk or cycle ride through the Forest, experience a ride on an authentic narrow-gauge steam train or even Go Ape on a high wire forest adventure swinging through the tree tops.

Working at the park are a team of Rangers each with their own specialism, with the main focus of this post being an Information Point Assistant as part of the Visitor Services team.


  • The Information Point at Moors Valley is an extremely important area of the Park and team work is essential to the day to day running of this provision, therefore applicants to this role should thrive when working in a busy customer facing environment and be effective communicators when dealing with a high volume of visitors.
  • Confidence when dealing with the general public is required and previous experience in a similar role would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Competence when using a number of computer software systems is essential and the ability to adapt to situations concerning this and others areas of the role are very important.
This is a casual role with various shifts available, the rate of pay is £11.98 per hour.
