Are you up for a challenge? Do you want to contribute to improving the lives of others by supporting the Salvation Army Oldham Fitton Hill community program?


We are seeking a Relief Worker to serve as a Community Assistant, collaborating with the Corps Officer and volunteers to oversee and enhance our community and children's initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have experience in working with individuals and a strong desire to assist our community while establishing meaningful connections with program attendees, staff, and volunteers.


You should possess both a professional and compassionate demeanor when engaging with program participants to cultivate a welcoming and supportive atmosphere and capable of handling written and computer-based administrative tasks to ensure accurate record-keeping.


To excel in this position, you should have

  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage your workload effectively
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster positive working relationships
  • Proficient in English (both oral and written) and numeracy skills equivalent to GCSE level
  • Understanding of safeguarding practices
