A quick look at the role
The
Senior Credit Controller supports the Team Leader in the direct line management of a small team.

You will also be accountable for all activities in relation to an account portfolio including query resolution, statement reconciliationand being the first point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders.


Your core responsibilities

  • Support the Team Leader with management, mentoring and motivation of a small team
  • End to end accountability for a designated number of debtor accounts ensuring the payments are made to terms and queries are managed promptly
  • Ensure overdue debt is kept to a minimum and all issues affecting payment to terms are raised with the appropriate team within head office and/or at an operational level around the wider Biffa network of 300 depots
  • Work to targeted KPI's based on your designated debt portfolio ensuring that unallocated cash is kept to a minimum and bad debts are escalated and managed appropriately
  • Ensure that for any debt recovery involving third party litigation the account is query free and action taken is in line with defined working practices.
  • Support the wider Accounts Receivable Team in routine tasks such as dealing with overflow telephone calls, taking credit card payments, managing the dunning process, and ensuring all accounts receiving an overdue letter etc

Our essential requirements

  • Experience managing/mentoring a small team
  • Proven record of managing a debtor portfolio
  • Confident Excel skills ideally including look ups and pivot tables
