Job IntroductionSupport the Procurement team to develop excellent working relationships with internal and external groups to deliver best in class quality, availability and price of raw materials.
Ownership of selected material categories plus coordination of procurement processes including sku/supplier set up and activity that leads to the delivery of our sustainability targets.
Key accountabilities:
Manage the procurement of a group of product categories across both kitchen sites
In liaison with the wider Procurement team, manage internal communication in relation to changes in materials, major price movements, delivery lead times and individual supply issues as necessary
Identify opportunities and own projects that improve ingredient supply resilience, quality, value and sustainability
Maintain up to date supplier details, pricing information, contracts and supply base contacts, for the team, ensuring they are accessible to internal customers and any changes are notified in accordance with agreed processes
Manage the procurement purchase price variance (PPV) reporting, supported by the buying and finance teams.
Work with finance to manage pricing mis-matches
Track Procurement team performance against targets.
Work with the New Food Development team to manage dish trials.
Main Responsibilities
Ensure products are sourced in alignment with Bigham's brand values and sourcing policy.
Support the Procurement Team in it's delivery of the annual savings target
Ensure all supplier agreements have appropriate contractual governance in place.
Work closely with the Finance team to ensure our PPV forecast is up to date and accurate
Support NFD and Ops in delivering successful product trials.
Experience
At least one year of previous FMCG buying experience OR degree educated in a relevant field
Knowledge of food manufacturing supply chains helpful
Qualifications
Degree level education in a relevant field
Driving licence (or ability to travel throughout the UK as required)
