GMP Recruitment are proud to partner a highly successful and fast-growing technology company based in Willenhall.

We are recruiting on their behalf for a Project Engineer to join their team on a full time, 12 month fixed term, contract.

We are looking fora Project Engineer with a mechanical bias.

Our client is a leading and innovative organisation in a specialist defence related industry.

The desired person would be flexible and adaptable to a range of working methods and processes, be well organised, able to communicate technical and practical concepts and be a team player with the ability to work and communicate confidently andeffectively with Senior Management.

Project Engineer main duties:

Lead and Coordinate internal/external design staff and manage those staff on a daytoday basis, allocating work between the teams accordingly
Oversee, effective testing of prototypes and record/analyse data from testing
Oversee design engineers modification of designs until the best version is reached
Preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring assigned technical and engineering projects to meet budget and deadlines.
Resolving any problems with the team, plans and budget to ensure that the project flows smoothly.
Identifying potential problems with the project, leading the team into developing solutions and ensuring that they are implemented
Compile, monitor and update project engineering and procurement project files.
Act as the key interface between the engineering and manufacturing teams; ensuring design for manufacture, manufacturing readiness and the delivery of all production related processes and equipment necessary
Developing and creating the prototyping process either by parts, tools, processes or measurements sets, this is either executed by the Prototype Engineer or outsourced to expert colleagues

Project Engineer desired skills and experience:

Must be qualified to ONC/HNC (Minimum Level 4) or City & Guilds T4 or T6 in Mechanical Engineering, with a supporting EITB Approved Apprenticeship.
5+ years in a Mechanical Design/Project/Manufacturing Environment (preferable)
A strong background in Project Administration, Design and Manufacturing essential to oversee key elements in all areas.

The standard working hours for this position are Monday to Friday, 09:00am - 17:00pm

This role comes with a highly competitive basic salary of up to £35,000 which is demonstrable with experience, plus additional company benefits.
