Senior/Principal Development Engineer - Powertrain - Permanent - Birmingham - £Competitive Salary DOE

I am seeking a Senior/Principal Development Engineer for an established automotive engineering company to join as their Chief Development Officer.

They are part of a growing successful business operating in the supply of automotive components for a range of commercial engines.

They provide design and development services for other sister companies within the engine products division being a globalsupplier/market leader in their field

The Senior/Principal Development Engineer will make sure the Development Department implements and maintains the Global Engineering APQP Process with respect to New Product Introduction, Production support and R&D activities.

What You Will Do:

As Senior/Principal Development Engineer;

Lead Development department and responsible for releasing weekly Development Plan
Adhere to Engineering Prototype launch systems and processes plus promote and enforce such adherence throughout Development Department
Ensure all prototype builds meet customer expectations
Compile and complete DVPRs
Plan and implement Laboratory TPM supporting H&S
Responsible for the Training and Development of Test Engineers / Fitters
Responsible for Test Specifications, data output from rig tests, help support Production Test Facilities, Rig Design

What You Will Need:

As Senior/Principal Development Engineer

Degree qualified Engineer or equivalent with relevant industry experience
Experience of test & development within engine/engine ancillaries
Knowledge of instrumentation
Proven experience working on prototype build within automotive industry
Be able to demonstrate strong problemsolving skills
Ability to work on a range of projects to tight deadlines
