Ward Receptionist - Paediatric Assessment Unit: This role would consist of 8am - 4pm shifts on Saturday and Sunday each week.
These shifts enable the administrative function to provide a full and robust support service to the clinicians on the units in liaison with other members of the team.
This role will not typically include working on bank holidays, but any that may fall on your working day would be counted as working days with an additional day AL provided during the year.
Please noteThe ward receptionist is a key role within the paediatric administrative function for a number of reasons.
This includes being the first point of contact for all visitors to our Paediatric Assessment Unit, maintaining all administrative functions and databases, assisting with queries from patients and visitors and escalating to clinical staffing as appropriate, and maintaining patient records as required.
The successful postholder must have good IT & communicational skills, and be able to deal with changing priorities and workloads, and be able to work both autonomously and as part of a wider team.
Cross-cover may be required, and all administrative are trained to be able to work in all ward areas as required.
The patient service team is a newly redesigned service within the Babies, Children's, & Young People administrative function and is responsible for providing all customer service functions to the paediatrics wards, inclusive of ward reception duties, ward administration, and liaison with services including interpretation, accident & emergency, and medical specialities administration services.
We are currently refurbishing our children's ward, which will have state of the art High Dependency Facilities and a purpose built adolescent/Child & Adolescent Mental Health area, which we are aiming to open in June 2023.
