The School of Clinical Medicine is seeking a highly motivated Education Technology Assistant to join our dynamic eLearning Team.
In this role, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and maintaining our cutting-edge Moodle-based Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
You will be the go-to person for clinical students, academic staff, and administrative personnel, ensuring they have a seamless learning experience.
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Collaborate with the eLearning Team to manage and support the VLE, fostering a robust learning environment for future healthcare professionals.
- Sharpen your technical skills: Maintain and test the VLE, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.
- Content is key: Work alongside staff to develop engaging and highquality course content, adhering to strict quality and regulatory standards.
- Embrace accessibility: Collaborate with the team to ensure all VLE content meets EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion) standards.
- Support faculty in recording lectures and developing prerecorded learning materials.
- Become a learning champion: Deliver training sessions on eLearning concepts and tools to empower academic and administrative staff.
- Think outside the box: Assist academic staff in finding innovative solutions and technological advancements to enhance the clinical curriculum.
- Project coordination: Take ownership of smallscale projects that optimize the clinical curriculum.
- Stay organized: Act as secretary for the bimonthly eLearning Steering Group meetings, managing documentation, reports, and research for recommendations.
What we're looking for:
- A strong educational background (HND/HNC, Level 4/5 qualifications, or equivalent experience).
- Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on clear communication.
- Experience supporting users with software systems, particularly those related to online learning environments.
- Proficiency in task management tools (e.g. JIRA/Trello) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A passion for technology and a commitment to excellence in online learning.
- The ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
