Centrepoint, the UK's leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for Supported Housing Officer to join our Cecil House team based in Camden.

We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently.

Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment.

We want to end youth homelessness by 2037_._

Together with our partners, we support over 14,000 young people each year.


About you

  • Effective communicator with natural ability to facilitate open and honest conversations.
  • Able decision maker with a can do attitude.
  • Respectful and empathetic, always considering the impact on our young people.
  • Flexible, always adapting to changing needs.
  • Engaging, committed to selfdevelopment by engaging with training and continuous learning.
  • Proactive, always looking for creative ways of working.
  • Be competent at addressing a range of needs.
  • Should have experience of working in busy supported housing services and with young people with substance (mis)use issues, mental health issues, YP who are disengaged with services and mistrustful of authority figures, Anti-Social Behaviours, multiple needs related to complex trauma.
  • Should have experience of working in mixed services and will need to be proactive, have good people skills, show initiative and respond quickly and appropriately in a crisis.
  • To have a strong understanding of safeguarding procedures in relation to both young people and children.
