PURPOSE OF JOB


The job holder will work closely with the Equipment / Logistics / Operations teams, and other HMM agencies / departments as required.

They will need a strong understanding of container control and any changes to transport regulations.


Ensuring the Equipment Control function is performed efficiently and effectively for the HMME GB organisation, that stock is always available for export bookings, or evacuated if in surplus, monitoring depots, liaising with Heavy Lift Charge (HLC) and functional GB departments, and ensuring all supplier agreements and facilities are functioning correctly in line with company guidelines.


MAIN JOB RESPONSBILITIES:


  • Manage container stocks and plan for future requirements
  • Monitor depot returns and optimize haulage releases/returns
  • Handle merchant haulage returns and execute empty repositioning
  • Ensure leased repairs are executed and check EDI
  • Process offhires and identify sales containers and buyers
  • Issue equipment control reports and process invoices
  • Update depot contract performance and HMM's legacy system (COMPASS)

WORK SKILLS, GENERAL AND SPECIALIST JOB KNOWLEDGE:


  • GCSE must include Maths / English, with excellent numeracy
  • Basic to advanced Excel and / or Powerpoint user
  • Excellent people / communication skills, relevant experience in a shipping line related to Equipment/Logistics/Operations
