The Payroll Assistant role is integral to the fats paced Payroll team.

You will be responsible for overseeing payroll for some of our 35,000 colleagues, working with the payroll associates to meet key deadlines, and to make sure payroll is delivered rightfirst time and in the right way.

Description

  • Overseeing the completion of payrolls including 5 Offshore payrolls, over weekly, lunar and monthly payrolls.
  • You will be responsible for investigating and resolving complex queries from our colleagues across the business.
  • Supporting and training team members on payroll processes, legislative changes and colleague queries.
  • Ensuring that payroll is processed right first time and in the right way, in line with internal policies and legislative requirements.
  • Measure the success of the team, looking for ways to continuously improve our processes and accuracy and, with the support of management, putting these changes into place.
  • Supporting key stakeholders and departments across the business and cascading data and reports as required.

Profile

  • Previous experience of working with complex and highvolume payrolls
  • A good to excellent understanding of tax and NI rules and able to calculate advances, arrears and additional payment values.
  • Awareness of the administration of HMRC remittances, court orders, and employee benefits like pensions and healthcare
  • A desire to learn and continuously improve
  • Strong Excel skills.
