The job itself:


Due to Maternity leave, there is an opportunity of to cover the above post in our small and friendly, Strategic Pay Services Team.


We are part of the Finance team at the Council but work closely with Employment Services and People Services teams to assist in delivery of an effective and efficient pay and expenses function, for both Council employees and external payroll clients.


We are seeking someone with experience of pay and expenses legislation for this role which will include reconciliation of payroll deductions and payment to third parties (such as HM Revenue & Customs, pensions funds etc), administration of Council employees benefit schemes (such as car loans and leases), year-end reporting requirements including production of P60s and P11D forms, and other financial controls related to BACS payments, petty cash claims, provision of cash floats and payment of volunteer expenses.


We offer blended working arrangements in the team and whilst you will be required to work in Goole Council Offices on a regular basis to meet up with the team, the majority of time will be spent working from home under the Council's agile working model.
